going waaaaaay back

one snowy afternoon last january, beth asked me if i would teach her how to make a snowball. the other two kids had just gone to sleep, so it was actually perfect timing, and i thought, what a great way to spend some solid one-on-one time with my girl. "i'd love to teach you how to make a snowball!"  so we threw on some coats, gloves and hats, and headed outside. and man, did we have the best time. the snow was just right for snowballs: sticky, but not wet. and you could make them without them disintegrating right in your hands. so i showed her how to grab a bunch and pack it and turn it and pack it and turn it and, naturally, what ensued was one of the funnest snowball fights i have ever taken part in. she laughed and laughed which made me laugh and laugh we honestly had the best time chasing each other around and shaking our bums at each other saying "bet you can't hit me!" i remember thinking that was one of the best days i'd had in a while, especially with just her. i'm glad i took a minute to pull out my camera and grab a few shots.
